Viacom owned kid’s entertainment acquires Sparkler

Nickelodeon, an American television network for kids has acquired a “Sparkler”. Sparkler is a learning platform for preschoolers. Acquisition amount has not been disclosed yet. Nick has 2.5 million subscribers across the globe and the acquisition would help Nick to increase its reach across the world. Earlier, both the companies had been developing a different type of early learning platform that measured a child’s development in order to offer personalized content and coaching for parents.

The acquisition would combine more than 1,500 episodes of shows like “Paw Patrol” and “Peppa Pig”. These shows will offer education to children involving popular Nick characters. Sparkler’s core technology will be integrated into “Noggin”, a Nick’s subsidiary, offering a similar ability to personalize Noggin’s content and allow parents to track and support their child’s progress with the help of playable content in their app.
