Unacademy acquires Handa Ka Funda, an Online Coaching Network
Jaipur based Handa ka Funda, which provides online coaching for multiple competitive exams has been acquired by ed-tech unicorn Unacademy. The edtech platform, Handa Ka Funda was founded by an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, Ravi Handa. Handa ka Funda is an online coaching platform for entrance exams such as CAT, XAT, IIFT, SNAP, and Bank exams such as IBPS and SBI PO. With video tutorials, live lectures, e-books, solved examples, and a large question database, the platform assists students in preparing for and passing exams. Handa Ka Funda began teaching online in 2012, and the platform claims to have served more than 20,000 students from more than 50 cities across India. Mr. Ravi Handa posted on his Twitter handle to announce the acquisition, “Handa Ka Funda has been acquired by @unacademy.” Unacademy’s leadership role in the MBA test preparation market will be strengthened by the acquisition of Handa Ka Funda. In the past, Unacademy has also acquired partial or full stakes in TapChief, Kreatryx, PrepLadder, Mastree, Coursavy and NeoStencil.
