From January 3, Tamil Nadu to Reopen Schools for Classes 6 To 12

Tamil Nadu’s schools for grades 6 to 12 will reopen on January 3. The state administration prolonged lockdown with further restrictions on Monday (December 13) in response to the danger of an Omicron variety. Meanwhile, the state’s board exams for grades 10 and 12 will take place as planned. The first revision examinations will be taken in January, followed by the second revision exams in March, according to School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi. Because schools have been shuttered owing to heavy rain since November, the exatra courses are likely to be held a week before. Official guidelines on the reopening of Tamil Nadu schools are anticipated. It is unlikely that attendance will be made mandatory. It is also envisaged that students will use a mixed approach. Schools in Tamil Nadu will adapt these SOPs to meet the needs of children while safeguarding the security of all students and employees.
