ROYBI raises $4.2 million seed round to produce educational robots
A U.S. based edtech company “ROYBI”, has raised $4.3 million in a seed funding round. The names of angel investors have not been disclosed yet. ROYBI, a robot is specially designed for children ages 3 to 7, which helps them to learn early childhood developmental skills. Sarraf, the co-founder of the company believes that the company can reach to many families, just as they have approached the pockets of two angel investors. ROYBI contains more than 500 lessons, stories, and songs and over 70,000 words to learn in English, Spanish and Chinese. The company will retail the robot for $299. The robot has artificial intelligence-driven technology that can detect a student’s reaction and can recognize the shortcomings in delivering lessons and also provides progress data on children’s learning.
It is also available as an application option, which is user-friendly on any mobile phone. With its specialized technology and content, ROYBI aims to have a significant impact on the early education industry and anticipates being in as many homes and schools as possible over the next few years.
