Punjab Government to regularize the services of over 5,000 Government teachers
Punjab Chief Minister, Amarinder Singh approved the regularisation of 5,178 Government teachers on full pay scales from 1 October, 2019. The cabinet Minister also announced that the services of those teachers, who were recruited during the academic year of 2014, 2015 and 2016 and have successfully completed two years’ probation period. The Punjab Minister also reduced the probation period from three years to two years. These teachers are currently paid ₹7,500 per month and now to be fixed at a minimum salary of ₹15,300 per month till the time they are given full scale.
Therefore, this step of Punjab Government would help Punjab Government schools to improve their Student Teacher Ratio (STR), which would ultimately improve the quality of education in Government schools.
