Puducherry is Ready to Reopen Schools for Grades 1 to 8 from November 8

According to Puducherry Education Minister A. Namassivayam, all government and privately managed schools in the union territory and its surrounding territories of Karaikal and Yanam will reopen on November 8 to conduct physical courses for children in grades 1 to 8. All essential standard operating procedures and adherence to COVID protocols, according to Namassivayam. He also stated that attendance was not required and that parents’ permission to send their children to school would be obtained. While urban schools would be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., rural schools would be open from 9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Schools would be open six days a week, from Monday to Saturday. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays would be class days for kids in grades 1, 3, 5, and 7, while Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays would be class days for students in grades 2, 4, 6, and 8.
