CBSE has made Physical Education as a compulsory subject for grade 1st to 8th
Physical Education is a subject that focuses on developing physical fitness of a child. From the new academic session, the students of class 1st to 8th in all CBSE affiliated schools will have a lecture on Health and Physical Education on a daily basis. Last year, Physical Education was made compulsory for grade 9th to 12th in all schools under CBSE. This would lead to a well-balanced life cycle and routine. The detailed syllabus of the curriculum will be available on the CBSE website shortly. From there, students can gain the brief knowledge about the curriculum. The Physical Education subject will carry 100 marks and it will be divided into practical as well as theory assignments. By introducing Health and Physical Education for classes 1st to 8th, CBSE aims to provide holistic development of the child.
