Nearpod acquires Flocabulary for an undisclosed amount

Nearpod, a San Francisco based edtech company that allows educators to create a presentation for students containing Quiz’s, Polls, Videos, Images, Drawing-Boards, Web Content, etc. has acquired Flocabulary, a Brooklyn based company that creates educational hip-hop songs, for an undisclosed amount. By acquiring Flocabulary, Nearpod is eyeing $50 million revenue in the next 12 months. Today, Nearpod has more than 7,000 lessons on its platform and teachers can customize them and create new contents. These 7,000 lessons cover everything from core subjects like mathematics and history to additional curriculum, which includes social and emotional learning, STEM and more. The acquisition with Focabulary would help Nearpod to expand their reach in the K-12 sector as both companies collectively have over 7 million students user base.
