After a long time, Karnataka Schools Resumed Offline Classes with COVID-19 SOPs for Grades 1 to 5

In Karnataka, schools for students in grades 1 through 5 reopened on Monday with rigorous COVID-19 SOPs. Several schools made special arrangements to greet students by decorating classrooms and grounds. According to the official sources, some private schools in the city and across the state have chosen to reopen schools for students only after Diwali. On October 18, the Karnataka government, in collaboration with the COVID-19 Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), decided to reopen schools for classes 1 to 5 on October 25th, subject to the Department of Primary and Secondary Education’s strict COVID-19 SOPs. For all of the schools, the government has made certain required arrangements. It is critical that students obtain parental permission before attending physical education sessions. Students, teaching and non-teaching staff members must all be screened. In the classrooms, only half of the capacity is permitted. Hand sanitizers will be provided in the classrooms, and a physical separation of at least one meter is necessary. It is not permitted to swarm around the school’s entrance and exit. The classrooms and restrooms will be disinfected on a regular basis.
