Austin based edtech company Interplay Learning raises $5.5 in a Series round A. The funding round was led by Shasta Ventures, Sierra Ventures, Holt Ventures, Wild Basin Investments and Shelter Capital Partners. Interplay Learning provides virtual reality and 3D replications for job skills training. Interplay Learning has a user base of more than 70,000 students on its platform. The company offers learning lessons for mechanical, industrial and electrical jobs. The company would use the raised funds to not only expand its operations but to build a customer success team and hire potential talent in its Austin offices. Interplay uses extended reality like virtual reality and augmented reality to train students to become better professionals. U.S. market is facing a shortage of skilled workers like plumber, carpenter, electrician, etc. the technology of Interplay Learning would help students to adapt these skills and earn a good living.
