Instructure Co-Founder launched his new edtech startup

Devlin Daley, founder of “Instructure” has announced the launch of “Derivita”, a Salt Lake City-based startup, which is funded by Daley himself. Derivita will provide math homework and assessment software to students and educators. By entering into this market, he is going after the big fish Pearson’s MyLab Math. “I reflected on the issues I heard while with Instructure, I learned that if you improve math completion rates, you can improve graduation rates” Daley said. With this software and math homework, Daley is hoping that students would no longer have to pay for their textbooks as they will provide everything online. Daley has marketed this product in 400 colleges and universities. Cost of Derivita’s software is estimated around $40 per student, which is very low when compared with other competitors.
