Google is leading in education, but Apple and Microsoft are battling for maximum market share
Owing to increasing usage of laptops and tablets in US Schools, Microsoft, Apple and Google, the leading players in this segment, are competing hard for dominance in school classrooms. Notably, Google with around 55-60% market share, at present, Google is clearly leading the pack. Earlier, Apple used to have the maximum share i.e. laptops and tablets in U.S. schools. In 2018, Google’s Chromebooks made up 60% of all laptops and tablets purchased in U.S. schools, followed by Microsoft with 22% market share and Apple 18%. U.S. ed-tech market is growing rapidly and expected to reach $43 billion by the end of 2019-20.
