Now early exit with B.Sc. degree for academically weaker students in IIT

Council for Indian Institute of Technology has decided to give an exit option with a B.Sc. degree to the students who are academically weak in IITs. Before this, B.Tech. students were required to complete eight semesters to have their graduate degree. With this exit option, students will have a chance to opt for B.Sc. degree and leave after three years. According to the data of MHRD, there were 2,461 students who were dropped out from 23 institutions in the last two years. “Academically weak students, who are not able to secure the required credits for promotion to the next semester may be allowed an exit option with a degree program after second semester, rather than being forced out of the program” said, MHRD Official.
