Edtech startup GUVI raised 1 crore from Grey Matters Capital
GUVI, Chennai based edtech startup has raised 1 crore rupees from a U.S based investor Gray Matters Capital. GUVI is an edtech startup where students learn to code in vernacular Indian languages. “We are bombarded by headlines stating how India’s engineering graduates are not considered to be employment worthy. We believe that start-ups like GUVI can change this paradigm given that it imparts programming skills through videos in regional languages to engineering fresher beyond metro cities”, said Aarthi Ramasubramanian, Senior Investment Manager, Gray Matters Capital. The source of income for startup is from students who are learning programming languages and from companies who use this platform to recruit coding talent. GUVI aims to use the raised fund to create 1 million programming coders in India by 2020 through the expansion of company’s video content.
