CM Kejriwal: National Capital of India will have its own school education board
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal recently declared that like the other states in India, Delhi will also have its own School Education Board. Consent for the creation of the Delhi Board of School Education was transferred while the cabinet meeting. While discussing the government’s policy, Kejriwal stated that in the academic year 2021-22, approximately 20-25 schools will be incorporated in the Delhi Education Board. “There are nearly 1000 government schools & 1700 private schools in Delhi. All government schools and most private schools here (in Delhi) are affiliated with CBSE. In the academic year 2021-22, we will incorporate 20-25 schools in this board,” Kejriwal stated. This indicates that the CBSE association of the schools will be discarded after which the schools will be affiliated to the Delhi Board of School Education. He also notified that the schools will be chosen only after consultation with principals and instructors of the schools, believes that within the following 4-5 years, all schools will willingly get affiliated to the board.
