Delhi Government plans to conduct a survey to improve pre-school education
The Delhi Government’s Women and Child Development (WCD) department plans to conduct a study on the effectiveness and functioning of Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) across Delhi to improve the status of enrollments in pre-schools. There are around 10,758 AWCs across the city and 6.5 lakh beneficiaries, which includes children, pregnant and lactating women. Aanganwadi Centres provide health check-ups to the children of low-income groups and also meant to impart pre-school education to those children.
The survey will evaluate the effectiveness of the centres in tracking the children and the challenges they face in getting them admitted to primary schools. The department has also come up with a new curriculum for pre-school education, which will provide the contemporary and improved way of learning to the children. With this survey, Delhi Government aims to make children ready to get admitted in pre-schools.
