Delhi Cabinet approves setting up of Sports University in Delhi
Delhi Government is planning to open a Sports University in Delhi. Cabinet has already approved a bill regarding this. Now, the bill will be sent to Lieutenant Governor, Anil Baijal for approval. The Sports University will be opened in Mundka area with 90 acre of land space. “A sportsperson would not get a job because every job requires at least a graduation degree to get through. The sports university will grant you a degree in sports such as cricket and hockey. A passionate sportsperson can now devote all of his time to playing and excelling in sports,” said, Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal. The university would provide graduation, post-graduation and doctorate degree in the field of sports. This will enable a sportsperson to appear for competitive exams like UPSC, SSC etc. as he would be considered as graduate after getting the sports degree. This initiative of Delhi Government will highly promote the sports culture in schools and colleges, which would help a sports person to develop his career in sports itself.
