Education Minister Introduced Curriculum-based Comic Books for grades 3 to 12
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ launched NCERT Curriculum-based Comics on March 24 for the students of classes 3 to 12. The comics will be entirely based on the NCERT curriculum. More than 100 comic books will be created under the supervision of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) by more than 100 teachers who will be from CBSE-affiliated schools all over the country. The CBSE Twitter handle said, “Minister of Education Dr. RP Nishank will launch 100+ comic books today prepared on different subjects to make learning more enjoyable.” The comics books will be for 16 subjects and will also consist of worksheets for the students. Some of the chapters will also include topics related to vale education, women empowerment and gender sensitivity. The comics will be available on Government’s portal ‘DIKSHA’ or on the ‘DIKSHA’ mobile application. CBSE said that “The comic books have received in a transformation of education to personalized learning, as 21st-century schooling focuses on knowledge, skills, attitudes, values and transformative competencies that create holistic learners”. This initiative aims to increase children’s social and cultural awareness through education.
