More and more States announced closing of Educational Institutions amid the returning wave of COVID-19
Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani declared that Classes 1 to 9 will be shut for an undetermined period from 5 March due to re-rise in COVID-19 cases in the state. Online classes for all grades are encouraged. However, Classrooms for Classes 10 & 12 in addition to undergraduate and postgraduate institutions will continue. In another announcement, all schools, colleges and educational institutions will be closed till 11 April. On the other hand, all the scheduled exams will take place while following all the COVID guidelines including social distancing, sanitization of Classrooms, compulsory masks, etc. The conclusion was announced after a high-level meeting of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with the Crisis Management Group of Bihar State. Maharastra Government has also announced the closing of all schools, colleges, hostels and educational institutions until the next announcement. Varsha Gaikwad, the state’s education minister, also declared that students in grades 1 to 8 would be promoted to the next class without having to take any physical exams.
