Saudi Arabian EdTech Startup AlGooru bags $600k in a Pre-Seed Funding Round

AlGooru, founded in 2018 by Khalid Abou Kassem, is an online tutoring platform that allows students to book online or in-person sessions with vetted and specialized instructors in a variety of academic and non-academic disciplines in just three simple clicks. Nawa Co, Oqal Angel Network, and Techstars have invested $600,000 in AlGooru. Nawa Co’s Sami AlHusayyen commented on the fundraiser, saying, “The edtech industry has the potential to address educational difficulties in our region by making high-quality teaching materials available to everyone, regardless of their physical location or financial means. A fast-changing work environment also provides a solution for lifelong learning. Nawa is pleased to assist AlGooru in the development of its novel solution for connecting students with skilled instructors, which will serve a burgeoning market and demand in the rapidly rising field of digital transformation.” The new funds will be used to strengthen the firm’s technology, market its product, and hire more instructors from diverse professions and backgrounds.
