3-language policy: National Education Policy draft revised

National Education Policy (NEP), a three language policy has been revised. The NEP means students in Hindi-speaking states should learn a modern Indian language, apart from Hindi and English and, in non-Hindi-speaking states students should learn Hindi along with the regional language and English. South Indian state Tamil Nadu has always opposed this policy. In this revised policy, students who wish to change any language may change it in grade 6 or grade 7. The NEP was submitted to new HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal on 31st May, 2019 and it was made public for feedback and suggestions. The revised policy is only a draft and it will be finalized after integrating public feedback and views of the state government.
